Sue Upton = Awesomesauce!
Mar. 8th, 2007 01:53 pmSue of Pottercast was on this most recent episode of Spinnerscast, and getting to hear her speak candidly about herself and her reflections on the Harry Potter fandom phenomenon made me like her even more. As I always suspected, behind the enthusiastic squeeing is a private yet very thoughtful person.
It gave me a little thrill to hear her speak so openly about what she found lacking in the film adaptations of the HP books. Though I regularly listen to Pottercast, I don't think I ever heard her making these points so fully before.
Her critique made me realize why I don't get too miffed by the movies when they fly fast and loose with canon: to me, each movie is really just a giant fanvid (albeit a fanvid that makes lots and lots of money.)

Date: 2007-03-09 01:28 pm (UTC)I'm glad she was on our show, because I really do think people only think of her as a sweet little squeeing person, while Melissa is the big planner and thinker, and John is the goofball. I know that's by design, but I was glad to give everyone a peek of the "real" Sue (who is just as much fun as the Squee-ing Hufflepuff version)!
