pennswoods: (Red Pants)

Today is a red letter day! Not only is it Canada Day,  which is awesome because Canada. But it's also summer vacation for most people here (Swedes take their holidays very seriously) which meant I was completely alone in the office and no one bothered me with silly questions or unimportant things to do. This meant I managed to get one very important task done (yeah!) before coming home to be greeted with this sight and the strains of Oh Canada! playing on the laptop. The guy I married very sweetly decided to decorate while I was out and we enjoyed Canadian bacon, pancakes and maple syrup for dinner.

And I know that's a Quebec flag on the table and not a Canadian one, but since I was born in Montreal, this is still relevant. To everyone who observes it, happy Canada Day! And to everyone else, happy Canada Day anyway!

And in other good news, Episode 7 of the Three Patch Podcast, dedicated to John H. Watson just dropped today. This was such a labor of love!  But this is why today is a good day - I get to celebrate two of my favorite things: Canada and John Watson.

I never noticed before how much red pants look like the Canadian flag!

I hope I don't sound too much like an idiot during the Emma interview. I was wincing during the Sorting segment that I should have shut up after I finished talking about the warehouse scene and didn't need to go on and on about the other two John-Mycroft interactions. Ah well. One never knows.

You sound full of squee in the Emma interview. And you REALLY don't have anything to worry about in the Roundtable. There were 6 people there and you didn't talk more than anyone else. I think Rachael and I talked the most. I'm going to edit out about half of what I said in the second part because I REALLY spoke too long. Too excited about John.

But seriously, I think there was good balance.

And the selection of red pants was entirely deliberate. Glad someone noticed the resemblance. :D

I loved all the Canada Day stuff on Tumblr today. Mostly because of all the extra due South references. YAY!

OH GOD THIS SHOW. I can go on for days about the mechanics and the meta and oh oh oh everything about this show. May I just say: homoerotic subtext with ZERO QUEERBAITING? Yeah. In addition to everything else? Just...amazing.

You gotta like episodic police procedurals, though. The show is so episodic that the continuity even inside a single season is sketchy. =D But it borders on magical realism at times, so it's easily overlooked, IMO.

I could talk about this show forever. I'll spare you.

I just don't want to fall so in love with it that it distracts me from Sherlock. Sherlock is my life right now and I want to save something for when I find my fannishness waning.

Well, the due South fandom that remains isn't going anywhere, so you've got plenty of time. Also, there's not a lot going on in the fandom, so it's easy to dabble in while you still keep most of your attention on your more active fandom.

I am pleased that there will be something there for me when I finally get around to it.

Just call them pancakes, since you're not really French.

Oh and happy Canada day!

Loving the fangirl pics you've posted. Haven't checked the dropbox file yet as I've been really busy since I got back. Being a GP is fucking hard work - dealt with over 80 patients in my two walk-in/emergency sessions today!

But I was born on the, how do you say, Eiffel Tower.

Oh my god! You need another vacation!

No worries, the dropbox isn't going anywhere. I'm planning to post a few more here. Especially that lovely one of you not looking pretentious that I snapped of you on the sly.

Happy Canada Day from a fellow Canuck and Hoser. And I too had Maple Syrup but spilt over those little sausages we love so much here in The Frozen North. Because I was running out of Bear Paw soup. ;) *snerk
