The next steps of my WIP for [livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01's Just a Kiss.

Part 2 had me ink the outline and erase most of the pencil marks. Things look okay so far, but the more color and detail I add, the more the problem areas stand out. I can see one here already that's frustrating me.

Part 3 beginning with color. I also gave Sherlock a nose, since it seemed part of it could be visible. John is supposed to have stubble, which is something I've never drawn before. I am sure there is a better way to represent this, and I'm not sure if I will continue to play with texture more. But any suggestions would be appreciated. I am also torn over John's pants. I am so tempted to make these into red pants just for the fun of it, but I don't know if it will be too ridiculous for the mood of this piece.

NGL, this scene killed me. It's probably my most-read chapter from that series.

Awww yeah. I love the look of worry on John's face here. It stands out even more when colored!

Awesome! I might go back and add more dimensions to his face once I get other things colored in. The stubble still worries me.

Oh wow. That's *hot.* Whew. I'm fanning myself.

Got to read this story. So much to read, so little time!

Do it! This is from chapter 4, one of my favorite chapters.

Is this really what it looks like, or is this just a "compromising position"? :o)

Heh. I hope I don't give too much away, but it's them simulating what it looks like. The simulation is still pretty graphic and gets a little carried away but not entirely.

the stubble doesn't look bad. The trick when i do makeup is I shade first then stipple over it.

Stippling to you would be rapid dotting, try on a scrap piece of paper. Also, use two colors for stubble as a variation of the hair color.

he looks worried...

The stipple sounds like a good idea. i will see if I can experiment on something else first as I may have to use ink and not colored pencil the stipple, and it could come out too dark.

I'm glad he looks worried. This is what I was going for. This situation is happening under some degree of duress (hence the guy in the background watching).
