Please don't let Harry die. He's never known this peace.

That's mostly why I don't think she'll kill Harry. Jo may be a realist, but she's no cynic. Harry will always have some heavy burdens and his scars, but he deserves his happily ever after, such as it will be without certain loved ones. I'm not worried. She won't kill him. And if she does, I'm confident enough in her that I'll be able to handle it.

I'm sure if she does kill Harry, she'll give us a bit of a sneak peek into his afterlife or at least assure us of the peace he'll find with his loved ones on the other side of the veil. But gah! I'll never be able to pick up the first book without thinking about how short Harry's time is.

BTW, has Rachael subjected you to this bit of Snarry yet? Is that why you're laughing at me? It's seriously good.

I agree about never reading the books with quite the same lightheartedness, and that's yet another reason I don't think she'll go there. Maybe I'm just in denial, LOL.

I was laughing because of the way you said it, not because of the fic (which I haven't read). I didn't even know there was Snarry in it!

Yes, the fic is very Snarry, and apparently Rachael hasn't read it yet. But it was really good - very psychological and predominantly from Snape's POV. I wish I could write like that, but I'm just not that deep (or tormented). It made me cry...

If there is a good Snape in it, I'll probably have to read this fic. I'm just not sure I could stomach the Snarry.

That does not looklike Gary Oldman. For a moment I thought it was Andy Kaufman or something.

The fic is separated into three parts, the first part has 5 chapters, the second has 13 and the third has 20. It's a looooooooooooooong ass fic. Snarry moments don't really come to play until Part II. I think they first kiss in Chapter 13, so you can still read a good portion of it - muck around in Snape's brain - and not have to endure much Snarry.

Snape is amazingly Snark-alicious. It's fun to read his thoughts and contrast them with what he actually says.

Yeah, I like to do that with Snape when I write him too. And I love Snarkalicious Snape. But I'm not a fan of lovey-dovey Snape, so usually it's hard for me to like any fics where he genuinely falls for someone (although I always enjoy the smut, heh), but it's even harder when that someone is Harry 'cause that's just plain icky. ::squick::

I don't know that I've read anything where Snape is lovely-dovey. If I have, I've purged it from my memory because it's just not in character for me to believe it's Snape.

In this particular fic, Snape's incredibly calculating. In fact, a lot of the drama later on seems to be instigated by these massive walls he has up. It's pretty fantastic really because it just seems so in keeping with his character.

I wish I could write like that, but I'm too shallow and my brain just doesn't go in that direction.

Shannon, that's not being shallow. That's being so nice that you're unable to think like a slimy little git like Snape. Which is admirable and laudable. I, on the other hand, wrote a fic in which Fenrir Greyback orchestrated an elaborate scheme all so Remus would dissolve into a big pile of self-loathing goo while he looked on, laughing his bloodthirsty bastard butt off. If I do say so myself, I'm occasionally quite good at channeling evil little slimeballs. It's my Slytherin streak, and it can be a doozy, heh.

*sigh* Ignore my deleted comments. I said I hated first person Snarry and then I recc'ed a Snarry for you where the smut only is written in first person alternating in perspectives.

Anyhow if you want to cry and haven't read it already, this is the saddest Dead!Harry fic ever. It is supposed to have a sequel soon too, which I am sure will make me cry too. Fuck.

You should give this one a try. Sometimes the perspective changes to Harry's POV, particularly during the more emotionally/sexually charged scenes later on.
