It wasn't so much a version of 'assume the position' as it was me remembering the one time a very close friend of mine, a few years ago, calling me on the phone after they'd come very very close to making an attempt at taking their own life.

Thanks for recognizing that I didn't mean anything hurtful or offensive. There were several options I was considering, but I feared they might sound a little too much like I was advocating attempting suicide, so I thought this was best.

Yeah, I'm in the view of anything surrounding this particular scene at St. Barts is just a really touchy area, where people have got to be careful about how they make jokes with it. Otherwise it ends up being like the person on the tumblr who joked about switching the 'Rick-Roll' out with 'Reichen-Roll'- which left a good number of us horrified and going "Do you have any idea of how that could trigger a person?!"
