Drawn for plagueratechelonkilljoy for the Happy Birthday Mark Gatiss fan charity auction. Inspired by the various trailers for Sherlock series 3 and my take on who Sherlock thinks mattered most.

This is so beautiful. I love the penwork you have here, and all of the different textures you have here. The pointilism is such a good choice to render Sherlock's iconic shadow.

It was an experiment. I do want to do more textured drawings like this. It's fun but sometimes the textures don't work out. I realized only after I had committed to it that the pointillism on Mycroft's face made it look like he had a bad case of spots.

Oh, this is so cool! :) (Dunno if this was intentional or desired, but the little teaser-clip reminded me of Edward Gorey, in using all sorts of different patterns for greyscale shading.)

It was indeed. I adore Gorey's style and think it might work with my own illustration style.
