Notes: Fanart based on the adorable and touching Nature and Nurture by earlgreytea68. When the British government (i.e. Mycroft Holmes), accidentally clones Sherlock, John and Sherlock find themselves raising a baby and doing everything in their power to ensure that this little boy has a very different childhood from Sherlock's. I'm not usually a reader of Parent!Lock, but this baby and this fic is pretty damn adorable while also a bit painful in what it reveals about Sherlock's childhood. It's currently a WIP, but updates regularly and makes me want to hug everyone after each new chapter. The sex is pretty hot too.

And again you do your good thing with wee kid feet and knees and limbs! So rounded! With the good contrast with Sherlock's crisp white shirt and his sleekness. The baby touching Sherlock's mouth! That is so real!

I don't even know if I could handle this story. It sounds like I might end up a sobbing mess. ;-) Parenting, bright children, and second chances meaning what they do to me. Ah well, so many fics I want to read. Thanks for highlighting this one.

There is something so fun about drawing the little sweet round parts of little kids and babies.

The story is written with a lot of humor and from John's perspective, so it isn't as painful as it could be. It may still make you sob, but it makes me smile - especially the humor.

oh, the little fingers and chubby knee are just charming, and the way he is touching Sherlock's face and looking serious.

This may seem an odd thing to compliment you on, but you have spot on captured Benedict Cumberbatch's back and waist there. I reckon you could just show that part of the picture to people and they would be able to identify the character from it!

I also love the different shades in Sherlock's hair.

Thank you for the comment about Benedict's waist and back. One of my favorite scenes is when we see his waist and back through much of S1E1 when he flips the chair for the pink suitcase.

The UST in that story was absolutely amazing, so the resolution was very satisfying. It also had unresolved romantic tension! In spades! Awww yisssss.
