Wedding Reception Update
Apr. 10th, 2007 11:19 amWe're getting married at the Episcopal Church on campus but didn't want to have the reception there since the best option would have been to rent out the recreation room, which smelled a bit too much like an old gym for my comfort. However, right behind the church is a beautiful old building called The Carriage House. We weren't sure if we'd be able to get it for the reception since it's scheduled for graduation Monday, and other organizations may have rented out the facilities, but we were lucky.
The Carriage House, by the way, is the LGBTQ center on campus. We figured if we couldn't get that, we'd try for something over in Hillel House.
Getting married on a university campus is ten kinds of awesomesauce! :)

Thoughts On Being Wrong About Snape

snapecast listserv that the cast use for "business", but in light of the big reveal accompanying DH this summer, I thought it might be a good idea to post it here for posterity. Otherwise, I know I'll forget exactly what I was thinking in the months leading up to the End.

Someone posted some spoilers supposedly revealed by someone at Scholastic, and I took a peek to see what was said about Snape. Whether or not these spoilers are in fact authentic is immaterial as they suddenly got me thinking. What if we've all been totally wrong about Snape all along? What if Rowling does something nobody around here expected.
I wasn't a super Snape fangirl yet when HBP came out, but the revelation that Snape was the HBP and that HE would actually kill Dumbledore totally threw me for a loop. (How many of you saw that coming before you read the book?) What if Rowling does something like that again, and Snape's motivation and actions and destiny are something none of us predicted despite all our theorizing and analysis...
Man alive. I don't know if I could handle it.
