Notes: Picture 11 of 13 for the Thirteen Days of Severus leading up to the Professor's 50th birthday. What I imagine to be a bittersweet memory for Severus. For this one I experimented heavily with a few copic markers. This reference used for the shadows.

I love this picture. They've all been wonderful. This has been a great creative project. This particular choice was masterful.

I love how this one turned out too.

It came out great-- I think copic markers are your new calling! I really like the texture of the wall and floor.

The texture was me cheating because I don't have good marker paper and don't know how to get the colors to lay down evenly. But I like the effect it has here. :D

Awww! Poor Severus in the corner with his parents arguing, yet the look on his face says it all, doesn't it?

I like to think this was a happy memory for him.

Ooh, very nice! The colors work well together, and he looks very happy. I remember you saying a few days ago that 11 was driving you batty, but I don't see anything wrong with this.

11 was driving me batty because I couldn't think of what it should be. 11 what? It's such an odd number that I could think what it could be. It finally came together the day before yesterday - 11 is significant because that's when magical children get their Hogwarts letters. 6 and 9 were also tricky, but they all worked out in the okay.

I settled on 12 waaaaay back, and I think I'm okay with 13 although it's a bit of a repeat, but I think it should work. :D

OMG! So adorable and yet sad with the shadows (which are amazing btw) and his little toes and he's sooo trying to be in the moment and to forget everything but THE LETTER!!

Great job! Your pictures have such a story-telling element these days...I LOVE IT!!

I don't know why it took me so long to think of something for 11. In many ways, I think Snape's experience with the letter was a lot like Harry's. It meant an escape. Unfortunately, he still had to wait more than half a year.

And it means so much to me that you think these have a story-telling element. I guess that's what comes of a series - a progression of some sort.

Oh, this made me so happy! But, you know, when you know what happens later many of these happy moments becomes just so very sad. *sniffle*

They do. The really do. I think this is why I revel in Snape's snarky moments. Even in retrospect, they're fun!

This one turned out great! Little Snape looks so happy, sitting in the corner with his letter and ill-fitting clothes. The shadow of his parents looming over him is perfect (and so, so sad). You capture these moments in Snape's life so well! The amount detail and thought you've put into these is seriously awe-inspiring.

And yet, I feel like I cheated on this one a bit. The marker meant it didn't take nearly as long to color as the colored pencil.

This might be my favorite! The color, the shadows, the meaning in Snape's face.

"And then I'll be gone . . ."

It came out beautiful.

Yes, yes, yes... I really wanted to show that contrast of hope in his hands with the home he must endure until then.

Oh, honey. This one makes me cry. Yes! Take him away, out of that horrible home, to a place where he'll still not be safe, but at least have a safe haven in the dungeons. *pets little Severus*

I'm especially fond of your choice of duds for Flashdance!Snape here. Could this be Eileen's old Slytherin house sweatshirt? (They do make those, right? Gladrags in Hogsmeade must carry them...)
